Call About a ReferralFOR REFERRING PROVIDERS
Help someone take the next step.
Have a client or patient who may benefit from counseling? Contact our office about clinician fit and availability, or send a referral by secure fax.
What to include
Share the client’s name, date of birth, preferred contact information and a brief reason for referral. Include your name, organization and callback number, plus the intended service or clinician and relevant payment or authorization information if known.
Discuss the referral with the client and confirm how they prefer to be contacted. Send only information appropriate for coordinating care; a full treatment record is not needed for an initial inquiry.
What happens next
Our office can review clinician fit, current availability and the next intake steps. A referral does not by itself confirm an appointment or insurance coverage. Call to confirm receipt or discuss coordination with the office.
Clients can also contact us directly. Some insurance or referral programs may require additional authorization before care begins.
Use secure fax for referral documents rather than ordinary email. This referral route is for routine coordination and is not monitored as an emergency service.

Call our office to request the appropriate release-of-information form and return instructions.
Build a working relationship.
Medical practices, schools, community organizations and employers are welcome to contact us about counseling resources and referral coordination. We can discuss the populations your team serves, practical barriers, and how to connect people with an appropriate clinician.
Referral questions
Does sending a referral reserve an appointment?
No. We still need to confirm fit, availability, the client’s wishes, and any relevant payment or authorization details. Contact the office if you need to confirm receipt or discuss timing.
Should I send the full treatment record?
A brief reason for referral and the information needed to contact the client are a useful starting point. Call about additional records and authorization rather than sending a full record by default.
Can a client contact you without a referral?
Yes. Clients can contact our office directly. A particular payer or referral program may have separate authorization requirements.
